McHARG Michael Owen McHarg Sr. of Southport, beloved husband of Kristine L. McHarg, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 29, 2007. Born February 11, 1946 in Elizabeth, N.J., the son of John E. McHarg of Brielle, N.J. and the late Marie McHarg, he had been resident of Southport for the last 2 ½ years and prior to that, a Madison resident. Michael received a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters in Business Administration from Widener University in Chester, Pa. He was currently employed as a quality assurance manager for the Heim Bearings Company in Fairfield. He was a member of the American Society of Quality Assurance. Michael loved his beloved Notre Dame football team, but most of all, loved time spent with his family. Survivors in addition to his wife and father, include two loving sons, Michael Owen McHarg, Jr. and his wife, Molly, of Doha, Qatar and Christopher Patrick McHarg of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a cherished granddaughter, Maya; four sisters, Mary Anne Hogarty of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., Patricia McCabe of Wall Township, N.J., Kathleen McHarg of Portland, Ore. and Nancy Quaglia of Norristown, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 10 a.m. meeting DIRECTLY in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
